40 weeks

This is a few days late, but I thought it’d be fun to see Porter at 40 weeks pre-birth and Porter at 40 weeks post-birth. The belly picture was taken on my due date–Christmas Eve–and to be honest, I wasn’t very happy that day. I knew I was being a brat, but I was upset that we weren’t already holding our darling baby in our arms. Anyway, the past 40 weeks have gone by so incredibly fast. He’s going to be one in just a few short months. Someone hand me the tissues.

40 weeks

Porter is learning and growing every day. He’s talking (okay, babbling) like crazy. He definitely says “dada,” but who knows if it’s actually in reference to David or not. Tonight in the bathtub he said “dada” over and over for about ten minutes straight. David was nowhere in sight (not even home), so I’m not sure P man is associating dada with Daddy just yet.

Porter isn’t crawling yet, and I have to keep reminding myself that he will when he’s ready. He is actually able to scoot backward while on his belly, but he hasn’t been able to move forward. He CAN turn himself around in a circle, though. That has to mean something, right?

Porter is a great eater {read more about that here.} He has recently learned how to throw, so he’s been throwing his food lately. Maggie has been getting lots of yummy scraps around dinnertime.

He finally figured out that the monthly stickers we’ve been putting on him are just that–stickers. It was hilarious to watch him make his discovery. He loved the stickiness!

stickyHe is the happiest baby and we feel so lucky to have him. He literally brightens our world.
