Using Cash Back Websites When Shopping Online

If you know me, you know that I love shopping online. In fact, I shop online way more than I shop in any store. My husband jokes with me that we have a package on the doorstep every single day. Amazon is my weakness, and Amazon Prime is the best thing ever created. Click here for a free trial of Amazon Prime!

Around the holiday season, I try to do most of my shopping online. I did a TON of shopping over Black Friday weekend and I came home one day after work the following week to SEVEN packages on my doorstep.

One of the reasons I love shopping online is that I love comparison shopping and I often feel like I can get a better deal online than I can in store. I’ve learned some tricks along the way, and while this isn’t a “normal blogging topic” for me, I thought I’d share it for all the other online shoppers out there.

One of the biggest ways I save money by shopping online is by using cash back websites. My favorites are Ebates, Mr. Rebates, and Big Crumbs. [Update: Big Crumbs has recently changed to MainStreetSHARES.]The cash back that each site offers varies depending on the retailer, and sometimes the percentage changes from time to time. For instance, I know Ebates offered extra cash back during Black Friday. Before you assume that it’s not worth the extra step of using one of these cash back websites, I will tell you that I recently received over $100 from Ebates alone.

All three of them are super easy to use, but when you’re ready to make an online purchase, there is no need to visit each one to see which offers the most cash back. Evreward.com is a website that will do the hard work for you. I’m not sure when I discovered this website, but now I use it every time I make an online purchase.

When you’re ready to make a purchase, visit Evreward.com and search for the retailer or website.

After searching, you will be given the cash back amounts for each of the cash back websites. As you can see, Big Crumbs offers the most cash back for Target.

Visit the website that offers the most cash back, search for the retailer in the search bar, and click on the link provided. The cash back website will direct you to the website and it will automatically track your purchase.

This is my favorite way to save some money while shopping online, and if you’re a big online shopper, you should give it a try. Remember when I saved almost $5 on Porter’s winter coat from Land’s End? It may not seem like much, but the pennies and dollars add up!

If you love Amazon like me, I recently discovered that Ebates does offer some cash back if you shop within certain departments on Amazon.

How do you save money when shopping online? If you have some tips to share, I’d love to hear them!
